Hey, first of all, thanks for reading my lousy Machine Translation. To be honest, I’d really like it if you guys corrected the mistakes I made. But please speak nicely and politely. My heart is not strong enough to read your too-harsh comments. Have a nice day. 🙂

Inside the supermarket, Zhang Chao walked over to Grayson and tossed him a can of beer.
Grayson pulled the tab, tilted his head back, and took a long swig. He grinned with satisfaction. “Now this is something fit for humans to drink. What the fuck was that shit we were drinking before? Worse than dog piss.”
Both men had distinctly mixed-race features. Over a hundred years after Doomsday, with the total survivor population dwindling to just over three thousand, skin color was no longer a barrier. Pure-blooded individuals were now the minority among the new generation.
Zhang Chao nodded and sat down on a display sofa. “Tomorrow, we’ll have them clear out that bus, load it with beer and cigarettes, and add the brass we found in the industrial zone. We’ll definitely get a lot of points for it back at the base. We can finally live it up for a while.”
“Them” referred to the several men busy among the supermarket shelves.
This group all wore black uniforms, distinguished only by their collar colors.
Zhang Chao and Grayson’s collars were red, signifying they were survivors from the world where Doomsday had occurred.
The others’ collars were yellow, marking them as natives of this world.
Grayson glanced at the men and lowered his voice. “When do we make our move?”
Zhang Chao lit a cigarette, his eyes glinting with cold light through the rising smoke.
“After they finish the work. After all, with so much stuff, I have no intention of moving it myself.”
“Their families are waiting for them back at the Base. Won’t they raise hell if they don’t see them return?”
Zhang Chao scoffed. “Let them. The Base is already overpopulated with useless mouths. Who’s going to care?”
Grayson still looked worried. “Three members of the Base Committee are their people. I’m afraid there’ll be trouble.”
Zhang Chao snorted coldly. “Fine, then let’s bring them all back. But don’t forget, the points for scavenging supplies are split evenly among everyone. With so many people in our group, how much do you think we’ll actually get?”
Hearing this, Grayson’s hesitation vanished. “You’re right. We should just get rid of them.”
Zhang Chao grinned and patted his shoulder. “That’s more like it. In the Doomsday world, strength is all that matters. If they had the guts to turn on us and kill us first, I wouldn’t complain. Besides, once we’re back at the Base, as long as we get our story straight—say they were bitten by zombies and turned—who’s going to verify it? Remember, no matter how many people are on the Base Committee, our only leader is Kam. No one else’s opinion counts. Kam wants the Base to grow stronger, not to raise a bunch of useless pigs. Ah, it’s a shame we couldn’t catch Chu Feng… otherwise, we wouldn’t have to slave away scavenging for supplies anymore…”
“Do you think Chu Feng is actually dead?” Grayson asked, his curiosity piqued. “If he were, Kam would have found his body by now.”
“Who knows? I still can’t figure out why he’d throw away a perfectly good position as Patrol Captain just to go against Kam. He must have lost his mind.”
The two chatted idly as they drank, soon surrounded by a pile of empty cans and food wrappers.
The men hauling cargo couldn’t help but cast envious glances their way. One of them muttered under his breath, “We were supposed to be teammates. We put our own money and labor into building the Shelter. Why are we slaving away while they just sit there and relax…?”
The man next to him tried to silence him, but it was too late.
Grayson raised his gun and strode over, his voice cold. “Say that again.”
The man, no longer willing to swallow his anger, slammed the crate he was holding onto the ground. “I’ll say it again! The System made it clear: Doomsday Players and Earth Players are teammates who are supposed to help each other! You promised us the same thing before we built the Base. So why are you treating us like slaves now?”
Grayson kicked him hard. The heavy sole of his boot made him grunt in pain and collapse to the ground.
“We protect you from being eaten alive by zombies—doesn’t that count as help? You feel wronged just because we ask you to move some boxes? Want a free ride? If you think we’re bullying you, then get the hell out of here right now! Go be teammates with the zombies and see how you like it!”
The man clutched his chest, his face turning pale with rage. “You… you’re despicable… shameless…”
Grayson snarled, “Are you fucking leaving or not? If not, get back to work!”
The man looked back at the others, hoping they would join him in defiance.
But all he saw were pairs of terrified eyes and feet shuffling backward, trying to distance themselves from him.
“If this is how we have to live, I’d rather we all die together!”
With a roar, he lunged at Grayson, desperately trying to wrestle the gun from his hands.
Suddenly, Zhang Chao shouted, “Stop fighting! There’s movement outside!”
Everyone rushed to the window. A small truck was speeding toward them, pursued by a dense horde of zombies.
The small truck was moving strangely—it was reversing, with its cargo bed leading and the cab trailing behind.
The cargo bed was engulfed in roaring flames, and the black smoke, whipped by the wind, nearly blotted out half the sky.
Everyone stared at each other, baffled by the sudden appearance of such a bizarre vehicle.
Zhang Chao realized it was heading straight for the supermarket entrance and immediately opened fire.
But the smoke was too thick, making it impossible to aim properly. After several shots, the truck continued reversing at full speed.
“Damn it! Stop staring and shoot!”
Zhang Chao’s furious roar snapped the others back to their senses, and they quickly raised their guns.
But it was too late. The truck reached the supermarket entrance and effortlessly smashed through the metal roll-up door.
Zombies, wreathed in flames, poured in, ignoring the fire consuming them as they charged toward the figures huddled by the shelves.
The goods on the shelves were all in dry, flammable bags. They ignited instantly upon contact with the flames, and the supermarket quickly became a sea of fire.
As Zhang Chao desperately fired his weapon, he caught a glimpse of two figures leaping from the truck’s cab and sprinting toward their parked vehicles.
“Damn it!”
He cursed, but there was nothing he could do but watch helplessly as they escaped.
