What malicious intent could NPCs possibly have? C9.2

Hey, first of all, thanks for reading my lousy Machine Translation. To be honest, I’d really like it if you guys corrected the mistakes I made. But please speak nicely and politely. My heart is not strong enough to read your too-harsh comments. Have a nice day. 🙂

Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!

Chp9. part2

Ning Ge walked to the low cabinet, picked up the gift that had appeared on the stage, and turned around to see Pei Han standing on the side of the stage, waiting to go on stage.

He had initially intended to come over when the pillow caught fire, but retreated after seeing the fire extinguished.

He sensed something was wrong with her and was looking at her with questioning eyes.

She had to tell him about the dangerous situation on stage immediately.

But how could she tell him?

A tree. Ning Ge thought to herself.

If a tree suddenly appeared on stage, Pei Han would understand what was happening.

However, no tree appeared.

The voice from the stage in her mind was furious: [A tree? A tree? Do you think that makes sense? Can a tree suddenly grow in the middle of your bedroom? Hmm?]

It seems that she couldn’t just conjure up whatever she wanted; she had to get past the crazy stage first.

Ning Ge had a sudden inspiration. While continuing to make up lines, she walked to the bedside. “Why don’t I put the gift in the bedside table drawer?”

She opened the drawer, silently thinking—

A box in the drawer.

This time, she passed the test. Sure enough, there was an antique-looking black lacquered box in the drawer.

Ning Ge put down the gift, took the small box from the drawer, and held it in her hand, seemingly tilting her head in thought, but actually facing Pei Han, who was waiting on the side of the stage.

She said, “This is Ersheng’s box. It’s always been mysteriously locked, but today he forgot to lock it. Could it be inside—his favorite antique watch?”

Ning Ge looked at Pei Han and calmly opened the box.

Inside was indeed an antique watch.

Her request was reasonable; the stage crew had no objections and approved it completely.

Ning Ge took the watch out and showed it to Pei Han.

Pei Han was taken aback.

He knew perfectly well that Ning Ge had been rushed into this role and had no idea what was on stage, let alone that there was an antique watch in the tightly closed box on the bedside table.

Seeing his expression, Ning Ge knew he might have realised the stage’s trickery and relaxed a little.

To avoid overthinking, Ning Ge continued to focus on writing the plot, bringing the story back to the main storyline.

“Hey, there’s a diary here. Is it Ersheng’s?”

She took a small black diary from the box, opened it, and pretended to read.

She’d only turned one page when she caught Pei Han coming up on stage out of the corner of her eye.

Pei Han completely understood her intention.

He didn’t quite know the rules for generating things with thoughts on this stage yet, but it was clearly different from the inn room that morning.

Even if Ning Ge was alone on stage, one person’s thoughts could still generate things. While in the inn, only horror-movie characters were generated; now the range was much wider, and other things could be created.

What if there were two people on stage?

Would everything each person thought of appear, or would it be like in the inn, where both thoughts had to be aligned?

If it were the latter, two people on stage would be much safer than Ning Ge alone.

That’s what Ning Ge thought. Pei Han clearly thought the same thing.

He immediately came up on stage to help her.

As soon as he came on stage, Ning Ge heard the stage announcer speak again.

[“Oh wow, our male lead has arrived. He’s handsome enough, but I wonder if his acting is up to par? Wait a moment, I’ll go greet him.”]

Pei Han’s steps noticeably faltered.

He was clearly being enthusiastically “welcomed” by the stage; it was unclear whether it was the same kind of “high mountain sun kisses toes” ceremony.
